The COSAC team are a dynamic and professional bunch, with a wealth of experience across a variety of sectors. We all have a passion for delivering great quality and customer experience
Andy Mason CBE
I am privileged to be the Academy Director, which means everyone else gets to do all of the hard work! My role in the team is the bloke that steers the ship. Unlike some of the specialists on the team, I have done some varied and different things in my career, running an Ebola Treatment Centre in Sierra Leone being but one of them.
Words of wisdom – If work is the cornerstone of future well-being, I believe, that training is the cement that keeps it in place and on which we can continue to build
I am responsible for the facility, the processes supporting training and future business development. I have years of experience, a passion for adult education and a commitment to quality of provision for all. My role in the team is to consolidate activities in a coherent, business focused manner, improve processes and ensure contractual and legal compliance.
My favorite quote – The natural desire of good men is knowledge
Smart Meter Training & IQA Manager
I coordinate the Smart Meter training programme, I’ve worked with big name energy companies to build Smart Meter training centres and with my many years’ experience in plumbing, heating and gas fitting, before becoming a trainer, I know a thing or two about Smart Meter Installation and how to teach the skills needed to be a great meter fitter.
My favourite quote – Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other
eLearning & Communications Manager
I take care of everything online, so whether that’s an eLearning course, something on the website or posts on social media then I’m responsible. Delivering the best customer service is my priority and I do this by keeping things as simple and as easy as possible. Within the team, I’m the person who deals with customer communications and often anything a bit technical!
My mantra – I believe that if something is worth doing, it’s worth doing well
I ensure our training facility is a safe, secure and welcoming environment. I prepare the tools and fault boards for the trainers so the courses run smoothly, I’m a point of contact for all and keep the building maintained. Previously I was heating engineer, but can pretty much turn my hands to anything and quite often do!
I believe – you have to believe in yourself to achieve your goals
Smart Meter Trainer & Assessor
I deliver the Smart Meter Installer programme, fully qualified and experienced in energy industry. I’m passionate about helping people to learn new skills and knowledge. I enjoy seeing the moment when things ‘click’ and they begin to understand why things are done in a specific way. I’m the person responsible for the programme content, including changing/re-designing – we’re always looking to improve!
My favourite quote – The expert in anything was once a beginner
Smart Meter Trainer & Assessor
I deliver Smart Meter Installer training. I’ve been a qualified electrician for over 20 year, run my own business and worked in the metering industry for several years. I focus on the power side of the programme, helping learners get to grips with the electrical aspects of the course. I know all about currents and I’m quite partial to them in a bun!
I believe – You only want to do it once, so do it right!
